In order to have notes that you can rely on to study, you need to have an organized notebook. This way, you won’t lose your notes, or have to spend your study sessions tracking them down. With this in mind, The Tutoring Center in Tampa Bay would like to share a few tips on how you can keep an organized notebook for school.

How to Organize Your Notebooks

Get Separated Combos

Make sure to get a notebook and a folder combo (which can even be color coordinated) for each of your school subjects, and to use them accordingly. Avoid mixing up your notes so you don’t have a trouble going through them when you’re studying.

Put Your Name on Them

What good is it to have effective notes in an organized notebook if you lose them? This is why you should remember to put your name, grade and subject on each of your combos. By doing so, you’ll have a better chance of relocating them if they get misplaced.

Label Each Page

If you want to have an easier time tracking down your notes when you have to study, you should write the date and topic on each of the pages in the notebook. Doing so will help you have more efficient study sessions.

Avoid Loose Papers

If you can, try your best to keep your notebook in one piece (i.e. don’t tear out any pages) and avoid keeping loose papers in it either (put them in your folder instead). This way, you won’t risk losing important information!

Keep It Clean

An organized notebook also means a clean notebook. Having to go through your notes when they’re dirty, filled with doodles and mistakes, can be distracting and even stressful when you have to study.

Create an Index

If you want to take your notebook organization to the next level, you can create an index on the back of it. Just number each of the pages in your notebook and match up the number to the topic you go through on each page.
